February: Amethyst
[Protecting True love]According to Greek mythology, Amethyst was a nymph that served the goddess Artemis. One day, Amethyst was attacked by a tiger, which belonged to the god Dionysus. The goddess Artemis saw this, so she turned Amethyst into a beautiful white crystal. The god Dionysus was angered and disapproved of this so he poured wine all over the white crystal. After a few minutes the crystal’s colour changed to purple and that is how we recognise Amethyst today.
In Greek “Amethystos” means “to not get drunk”. It was believed in ancient Rome that drinking alcohol from a glass made of Amethyst, will prevent you from getting drunk.
Amethyst is also the guardian stone of love, which gives us power to protect our true love. In Europe, it is believed that Amethyst can bring about a wonderful encounter.
On the other hand, Amethyst is one of the most powerful spiritual stones. It gives us inspiration and heals us from stress and negativity.

Put Amethyst into a glass container in moonlight for as long as you want. You can also put it on white quartz (Cluster), white quartz has the strongest healing power. Furthermore, Amethyst can be washed with water, especially from natural water sources such as springs and waterfalls.
Gemstones and crystals are continually healing and encouraging us, therefore, it is really important to value them, especially with appreciative words which can be effective.
